Dan Hyun | Elder & Lead Pastor

Pastor Dan was raised in the greater Philadelphia area, receiving degrees in speech communication from Penn State University and the Masters in Divinity & the Doctor of Ministry in Urban Missiology at Biblical Theological Seminary. He is driven for God’s work in the city having served with urban churches in Philadelphia and Baltimore. In 2008, Dan was privileged to lead a team to start The Village Church in Baltimore, MD with dreams of making God famous through a diverse and multicultural expression of the Kingdom of God.

His journey hasn’t been without many painful bumps along the road, but God’s patient grace has been evident the whole way. As God has blessed Dan in so many ways, he desire to invest in others. Dan trains and coaches urban church planters and regularly shares his thoughts at Lifeway Pastors. Speaking is a passion for Dan as he leads others on issues including leadership, urban ministry, justice, and church planting. He has also had an amazing experience starting the annual Ethnos Conference to lead the Church in conversations about multicultural mission and reconciliation.

Andy Greenfield: Elder & Pastoral Intern

Andy Greenfield | Elder & Pastoral Intern

Andy was born and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas. He spent several years in his early 20s touring the U.S. in a Christian rock band, and now he spends his days managing a music retail store. In 2012, Andy and his wife moved to Baltimore, and since then God has added two adorable boys to their family. They live in the Guilford/Waverly area of the city where Andy leads one of the Village’s community groups. Andy loves reading, studying, and teaching the Bible. In particular, he has a special passion for the Hebrew Scriptures, the culture they emerged out of, and the effect that understanding them has on who Jesus is, His life, His message, and our future. Additionally, Andy has a passion for creation care, music, cycling, hiking/camping, and exploring the small unique parts of this beautiful city. Andy has joined the Village leadership team to learn from their wealth of knowledge and wisdom on church planting with the excitement and anticipation of planting a church in the near future.

Ryan Miller: Elder

Ryan Miller | Elder

Ryan Miller was born in Kentucky but has called many places home throughout his life. He has spent a majority of his professional life in the Baltimore/Washington D.C metro area. Currently, he resides in the Mayfield neighborhood in Baltimore City with his wife and two dogs and two cats. Ryan works in the finance industry in downtown Baltimore, and he enjoys traveling, watching sports with friends, investments, writing, and reading books. Mercy ministry is very close to his heart because he has a heart for urban ministry.

Larry Lin: Assistant Pastor

Larry was born and raised in San Jose, California, and he has a civil engineering degree from Cornell University and a Master of Divinity from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. After briefly working in college ministry, Larry joined The Village staff team in August 2013. Larry is also a husband to Van-Kim and a father to one daughter, and he enjoys playing basketball, songwriting, and talking about politics and culture. Michael Pearson: Pastoral Intern

Michael Pearson was born and raised in Lancaster, PA. A profound revelation came to him at the age of 17. “Change now or spend the rest of your life in prison!” God was speaking to him, and he didn’t even know it. Though he was scheduled to be transferred to an adult correctional facility on his 18th birthday, Michael was given a leadership role in mentoring incoming juvenile inmates. Following his release, although the environment he returned to promoted recidivism, he was able to stay out of jail.

Michael earned his GED while serving his sentence at Abraxas Correctional Center. Upon his release he attended Thaddeus Stevens College where he graduated with honors with a degree in Applied Science. He has been married to his bride Janet for 16 short years and they have 4 children. Michael is ordained through In the Light Fellowship, and he has recently moved to Baltimore to plant a church.

Jason Melani: Worship Arts Director

Jason has been involved with music his entire life. He sings and plays drums, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, and the harpejji, a new instrument created in Baltimore by Marcodi Musical Products which he co-founded. Along with new arrangements to older songs, Jason enjoys including original worship songs into The Village worship gatherings. He lives in Original Northwood with his wife and 4 daughters. Jason and The Village Church’s passion is to see the gospel expressed in Baltimore by engaging culture through the arts.

Van-Kim Lin: Children's Ministry Director

Van-Kim Lin | Children’s Ministry Director

Van-Kim (VK) is originally from Sugar Land, TX. She made her way to upstate New York where she graduated from Cornell University with a degree in Human Development and where she met her husband, Larry. Afterwards, she found herself in Baltimore, eventually graduating from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health with a degree in Child Health. She now works as a research scientist for Child Trends, helping policymakers understand how to improve the lives of children. Van-Kim loves to clean and organize, try new restaurants, people-watch, and drink iced coffee.

Kristi Culbreth: Youth Director

Kristi Culbreth | Youth Director

Kristi is originally from Newberry, South Carolina. She moved to Baltimore after college for a year of service and fell in love with the city. By day, Kristi works in vocational services for people with disabilities (and by night, gets to plan fun youth nights for the Village Church youth)! Kristi lives in Medfield with her two awesome roommates and enjoys knitting, hammocking, and waiting in anticipation for the Orioles to win the World Series.

Rob Pomier: Redemption Ministries Director

Rob Pomier | Redemption Ministries Director

Rob was born and raised in the Hampden area. He found the Lord despite struggling with long-term addiction and a violent upbringing. After a near-death experience due to drug use, he has devoted his life to the Lord and his time to the church so that he can help others who have experienced similar situations. Rob is passionate about boxing, is a die-hard Ravens fan, and is currently trying to make up for lost time with his children.

Johanna Bachman: Office Manager

Johanna Bachman | Office Manager

Johanna was born and raised near Pittsburgh, PA. She has a degree in Education and Mathematics from Concordia University in Chicago and a Certificate in Bookkeeping and Accounting from Towson University. Johanna, her husband Adam, and their three children have been part of the Village Church community since 2010, and she joined the Village staff in 2018. Johanna home schools her children, volunteers with Community Bible Study, and enjoys hiking and being outdoors.
